Sherlock Holmes VS. Jack the Ripper

With the advent of technology, we can now play the famed

detective himself and attempt to finally get a hold of fame 

serial killer, Jack the Ripper, in London circa 1888.

Players will get to play Sherlock Holmes either in first-person

mode or as a point-and-click adventure. In first person mode,

Sherlock Holmes follows the chilling, real-life crimes of Jack the

Ripper that happened in the Whitechapel area by talking to people,

looking for clues and applying actions. There are side missions as

well, mostly from the people you talk to; do them a favor and they'll

get you the information you need. This game's strong point is definitely

its story. Graphics are reminiscent of the consoles of yesteryears,

which I found to be a waste. What was worse was the fact that Jack 

the Ripper's murder victims looked very cartoony upon examination

which robs the entire mood of the game altogether.

I find that Sherlock Holmes Vs. Jack the Ripper can be really worth

it only if you're a huge fan of Holmes himself or the crime-solving

genre. Otherwise, save up for another game or better yet, purchase

this secondhand.
